I am a business man. With Our Nation’s economic downturn we face family and city fiscal uncertainties. I’ve built many successful businesses and bring real-world business experience to the Orem City Council. In recent years, Orem has lost new and established businesses because they felt Orem didn’t want them here. This must change.
Orem can create jobs and build its tax base by dramatically improving the business climate and I know how to do this. I’ll foster city government that supports business by staying out of the way, not blurring the lines between the public and private sectors, and only involving the government when constitutional to do so.
Bringing Needed Change
I will advocate three fundamental messages by which our city government must run:
1. Advocate of Personal Property Rights-I believe in increasing personal property rights by eliminating restrictive city ordinances. Our nation fought a revolution over the right to own land and to determine the use of personal property.
2. Advocate of Small Business-I believe in laws and ordinances that promote and attract small businesses. By increasing the small business base we provide better opportunities for our children to remain in Orem and raise their families here.
3. Advocate of “Family City USA”-I believe in promoting an environment where families can work and play together. I’ll build our “Family City” brand by bringing back Orem Beautification events, driving better promotion of existing events, and developing an Orem Farmer’s Market Fair.
